The Project

Picturehouse Cinemas, operating 26 cinemas across the UK, sought to revamp their online presence with a new website that would encapsulate their passion for theater and community engagement. The project involved creating a highly scalable and customizable browsing platform, incorporating features such as in-depth Vista integration, custom attribute filtering, a complex and configurable membership sign-up process, and a seamless mobile user experience. This initiative aimed to not only enhance user interaction but also support Picturehouse's mission of connecting with diverse audiences throughout the UK.

My Approach

As the project manager, I adopted a hybrid approach that combined agile principles with iterative sprints, tailored specifically for the project's unique requirements over a six-month timeline. I initiated the project with a traditional project management approach, focusing on thorough requirements gathering to ensure alignment with Picturehouse's vision. I developed a proactive risk management plan and a detailed project roadmap to guide the team through each phase. Utilizing effective communication tools, I kept all stakeholders informed and engaged, ensuring the project remained on track and ultimately delivered a website that met and exceeded Picturehouse's expectations.
